Camels in Colorado Springs? Nope, not at the zoo (at least not right now). They're at Garden of the Gods and they're kissing! If you still aren't familiar, there's a rock formation in the park the very closely resembles the profiles of two camels kissing.

The first time I visited GoG and saw the camels was on a trip with the Army from Ft Huachuca up to Ft Carson. We had some down time and explored the area. As a young man from NH, I was used to green trees and grey granite so the deep reds and oranges present in the sandstone was very gripping.

That's one of the reasons the Garden of Gods was one of my first topographic prints. I spent hours and days working with my older printers to get it just right.
