As you embarked on the Lemosho route, you found yourself surrounded by a vibrant, lush rainforest - the first of the four distinct ecological zones you would encounter on your Kilimanjaro journey. The path led you upwards, traversing the magnificent Shira Plateau, once the third peak of Kilimanjaro before its collapse. Continuing northward, you reached Moir Hut, where you took a day to acclimatize and prepare for the challenges ahead.
With determination in your heart, you ascended even higher, conquering the mighty Lava Tower before descending into the breathtaking Barranco Valley - a true gem along the entire trail. Scaling the formidable Barranco Wall, you then followed the southern circuit, passing through Karanga and finally reaching the elevated Barafu Hut, your high camp.
And now, the moment of truth arrived. Did you set off from Barafu in the early morning hours, braving the bone-chilling cold and relentless winds? This stretch, undoubtedly the most frigid and gusty part of your adventure, would ultimately lead you to the pinnacle of glory - the summit.
